Privacy Policy

The short version: Between Contractions doesn't have accounts, doesn't use analytics or ad trackers, and doesn't send your contraction data anywhere. Everything you log stays on your device, in storage that's private to the App.
1. What Data Between Contractions Stores
When you use Between Contractions, it stores the following directly on your device:
- Contraction start/stop times, duration, and frequency
- Optional details you choose to add, like intensity and notes
- Your app preferences, such as language and light/dark theme
On iOS this is stored locally using Apple's SwiftData framework; on Android it's stored locally using a Room database. Neither is uploaded to any server we operate.
2. What We Don't Do
- No account or sign-up is required, and we don't collect your name, email, or phone number.
- We don't run analytics, crash reporting, or advertising SDKs, and we don't show ads.
- We don't sell or share your data with third parties, because we don't collect it in the first place.
- On Android, the App doesn't even request the internet permission — it's technically incapable of sending data over the network.
3. AI Insights
Where AI Insights is available (currently on supported iOS devices), it runs entirely on-device using Apple's Foundation Models framework. Your contraction data is never sent to Apple, to us, or to any cloud AI service to generate these insights. On Android, this feature is currently shown as "coming soon" and makes no network calls.
4. Home Screen Widgets and Watch Apps
The optional home screen widget and watch companion app (Apple Watch / Wear OS) sync your contraction data directly between your phone and your own devices using Apple's App Groups / WatchConnectivity or the Android Wearable DataLayer API. This data stays within your personal devices and is not routed through any server we operate.
5. Deleting Your Data
You can delete all of your contraction history at any time from Settings using "Delete All Contractions." Uninstalling the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
6. Children's Privacy
Between Contractions is intended for use by expecting parents and is not directed at children. Since the App collects no data from us in the first place, there is no data of any user, including minors, transmitted to or stored by us.

If this policy changes — for example, if a future feature changes how data is handled — we'll update the "Last updated" date above and describe the change here.
